- 2 packs of sausages
- oil for frying
- 2 onions
- 10 mushrooms
- 6 tsps of gravy granules
- 1 pint of boiling water
- 80g butter
- 80g plain flour
- 1 pint of milk
- 2 tbs grain mustard
- ½kg potatoes
- knob of butter
- In a frying pan fry the sausages in the oil until lightly browned (dont worry if not fully cooked as they will be going into the oven later on)
- Chop potatoes in to small pieces and bring to boil, cooking until soft.
- Remove from pan and chop into three and place them in the bottom of an oven proof casserole dish
- Chop into rings and lightly fry onions before adding to dish with sausages
- Chop mushrooms in half and lightly fry before adding to casserole dish
- Make up the gravy by pouring boiling water over granules and storing until dissolved. Add to casserole dish
- Melt butter in non stick pan, remove from the heat.
- Gradually add flour and add until combined.
- Slowly add milk and stir until combined with flour and butter mixture and there are no lumps
- Return to heat and keep stirring until it thickens and then add the mustard.
- Once it resembles a white sauce pour into the casserole dish and stir into all other ingredients.
- Remove potatoes from the hob, drain and mash with the knob of butter
- Add to top of ingredients in casserole dish and gently fork
- (add grated cheese if you like a crunchy top)
- Place in pre-heated oven at 180 for 45 minutes
