Sharing the love on #FridayWithFriends this week because it feels like there has been a sadness this week online. It has been palpable. Events over the past seven days feel like they have rocked everybody, and social media has taken a kicking. Justifiably so in many cases.
As lovers (for the most part) of social media Annie and I decided that for #FridayWithFriends this week we would share the love. There have been lots of memes on Twitter and Instagram asking us to adjust each other’s crowns and generally big others up so we thought we would do the same and share some love online and link to some posts we have read and loved.
First of all StayAndRoam.

We love Gemma’s posts, her stories on Instagram and her photography in general. In her latest post Gemma says that she has been juggling lots of plates lately, she is not kidding. There are lots of adventures on the horizon for Gemma so do keep an eye on her Instagram and blog.
Next on our list is our dear friend Penny. Something right in the middle of Penny’s Instagram caption on this post really caught my eye
Failure is a great way to learn!
In fact it actually made me stop and think for a minute because it is so ruddy true and I really hadn’t thought about that before. Penny is a very special friend and on our regular catch ups both Annie and I often talk about Penny and our shared adventures. If you don’t follow Penny, please do. And if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the Peak District then Penny and Rik’s AirBnB properties are stunning
You might not know Charlie Mackesy but I discovered him on Instagram late last year and was then given a copy of his book for Christmas. His drawing are beautifully simple and the their captions always incredibly moving, yet simple. Charlie just seems to find exactly the right thing to say, just when we all need to hear it most. Seeing these pictures pop up on my timeline always makes me pause.
