Yay, you got the invite!
We really hope you can make it to BruceFest.
We have taken over the cafe at Blackbushe Airport which is on the A30 between Camberley and Hook and is well signposted. The postcode is GU17 9LQ. Or if you do happen to be arriving by private jet it’s EGLK and you can file your PPR via the Blackbushe Airport website .
Pull into the carpark and we will be over to the lefthand side, with parking outside (though you are welcome to park anywhere in the car park). The cafe will have closed at 4pm so it shouldn’t be too busy and there is plenty of space.
If you want to stay over the options for hotels are:
The Ely which is a Chef and Brewer pub that has rooms which are fab (and reasonably priced). It is technically walking distance but there isnt a pavement so it’s probably not advisable). Our mums are booked in here so there will be friendly faces at breakfast should you pick this one.
The Elvetham (yep, where we got married so if you came to that you will recognise it), about two miles away.
Or the Casa de Cesari , also about a mile away. We haven’t been to this one but it looks good value.
There are the usual Travel Lodge / Premier Inn places in Fleet or Farnborough too but they are about five miles.
We are serving pizzas and salad for an hour between 7.30 and 8.30pm so do please let us know if you have an allergy so we can make sure there is something else for you. And it goes without saying there is also a bar, though they mostly cater for wine and beer drinkers so if there is a particular spirit you will want on the night please do let us know.
We have also booked a live band who will be playing on a stage outside so bring dancing shows and if you know of any songs you really want to add to the playlist (or that remind you of Bruce) please let me know so we can add them.
One last thing, we are looking to collect photos of Bruce over the past 60 years so we can have a photo board on the night. We would love it if you could upload any that you have to this shared Dropbox folder (bear in mind that they will then be visible to all including his mum!!) so we can make that happen.
