Mooching is my new thing. New favourite thing. I love a good mooch.
A couple of weeks ago, with no plans, I decided it might be nice to get out and play with our cameras again. And since Mr B has had a National Trust membership for 20 odd years and rarely goes to any of their properties, we should visit our nearest property.
Wallet checked to ensure he had the membership card, old receipts tossed aside, cameras grabbed, all good to go so off we went to our nearest property: The Vyne just outside Basingstoke.
Except when we go to the car park Mr B realised he didn’t have his wallet.
It was on the coffee table at home.
Along with his membership card
<rolls eyes>
So anyway we finally made it to this beautiful building that was left, with all its furnishings, to the National Trust back in the 50s. More on the house in a future blog post but I wanted to share some pics of the garden and grounds today and join up with Annie and her How Does Your Garden Grow linky again
Such a shame it was a miserable day and that the light was so poor.
Really hard to find any splashes of colour at this time of year but this really made me smile:
Lovely to see decorations for Christmas out in the gardens too!
I can highly recommend The Vyne, just outside Basingstoke. There was more than we explored on the day, including a walled garden and greenhouses, so we will be back.
And as I say, the house will be in a post coming up soon!
I really love those Christmas decorations, understated, but very festive too. The Vyne looks lovely, I keep meaning to sign us up for NT membership. #HDYGG
Don’t get me started on the rancid uk winter light (Inwill be in a state of complaint till around May about this)
I don’t *think* I have been to the Vyne before but it’s not far so will check it out post-Xmas. Maybe we can make a cheeky afternoon of it?
(Code for go drink coffee, eat cake and have good old catch up!)
Thanks for joining in again Bazzle x

Mr B sounds like someone i live with. my husband. who forgets everything and who must return home at least three times before we actually get somewhere. grrrrrrrrrrr. lovely shots

Worked out what your Capitals Question is.
My answer – MyGGWWAW!
Answers on a post card please.
Looks a great place for a mooch. And mooching can’t be beaten. Fact. #hdygg
Oh this looks like a lovely garden to visit when in full bloom, the Christmas decorations add a lovely pop of colour to the rather forlorn looking gardens.
