The wonderful thing about being a granny is that you get to see how things have moved on since you were a parent. It’s amazing how things have changed and moved on in the last twenty five years and I am here for it! When I first became a parent I was living in the Middle East and the only skin care product you could buy for babies was Sudocreme, and you certainly couldn’t get pillow mist or multivitamin supplements specifically for young children.
Which is why I was so excited to try Baba West’s range of products recently. Baba West was created by Leonora Bamford and Zita West, and in their own words:
Leonora Bamford, mother of three and publisher of leading parenting website My Baba has joined forces with top fertility expert and midwife Zita West to create a range of supplements to support your baby, toddler and child’s growth and development. Laying down the foundations to help strengthen their body’s natural resiliences, Baba West ensures science and nutrition work hand-in-hand to help shape your child’s future health.
And as you can see Lily was excited to try them. As soon as we showed her the tub of cream she was off the garden with it and it was all we could do to wrestle it off her. Not before grandad had his arms moisturised though:

Alongside the multibiotics for babies and children up to 12 yrs old there is a lovely new product; a the Zinc & Calendula cream that soothes skin irritation, eczema and nappy rash. It smells amazing. Baba West teamed up with Lionsleaf to produce this product and its un-fragranced, made with pure plant oils and organic beeswax and is suitable for the whole family. All of our hands have taken such a battering over the past two years with all the washing, and hand sanitiser that feels like a spa treatment and I am not ashamed to admit I have been using this on a daily basis since it arrived. I love it. And more importantly Lily loved it. She loved being able to dip her little finger into it before then rubbing it on a little dry patch of skin she had.

Research shows that friendly bacteria can be a beneficial addition to a child’s daily routine; boosting their gut health, which in turn impacts digestion, immune health, skin health and mental wellbeing. Baba West’s range of natural supplements can really help towards that, with the Vitamin D oral spray being suitable for babies, and the junior spray suitable for children up to the age of 12.
If you are looking for a few additions to boost your little one’s defences then do have a look at these products. And if you need something nourishing for your own hands, I can really recommend that zinc and calendula cream!
