Wisley’s Giant Houseplant Takeover

Wisley’s giant houseplant takeover is well under way, and ends on 1st March so if you want to visit you need to do it soon!

It really is a wonderful exhibition, all inside a giant glasshouse and as the name suggests the houseplants have taken over!  Here are some photographs to show what I mean:

I think that bed might be my favourite of all the set ups, it is stunning and the photos don’t do it justice.

Garden Manager Emma Allen said: “We really didn’t have a choice – the houseplants chose us. We tried to resist, but in the end they won, and we will have to make the best of it. We will keep them well fed and watered and can only hope they will leave our visitors in peace.”

This isn’t the first time I have been to Wisley (I am a member of the RHS and have been to Wisley a few times but this appears to be the first time I have written about it weirdly) but I did once suggest I might post photos and pretend we had done a garden makeover and see how long it took people to notice

If you want to see the houseplant takeover at Wisley all the information you need about getting in, how much it costs and opening times is here: RHS Wisley

Of course there is more to Wisley than just this houseplant takeover so here is a selection of some of the other plants and things I spotted when I visited last week.
